Inspiring Blogger Award

This afternoon I needed to go pick some prescriptions up at the pharmacy; yes, it is the story of my life! I actually wanted to save my hubby a trip tonight as he’s been working extra hard leading a project at work and I thought he deserved a little errand break. 🙂 On my way to the pharmacy, I spent some time in prayer about my blog among many things and people. The prayer concerning the blog was this.

Lord, I think that the blog needs something a little “lighter” today, but You know I will write anything you want me to that is honoring to You. If you have a message to send that needs sending, let me know.

As I continued on about my day with my scheduled home nursing visit, calls to Social Security, getting the kids to write their Valentines for school, etc., I was still wondering about my blog post for today. So I logged onto my blog and my dear blogging buddy Ellie, had nominated me for the Inspiring Blogger Award!!!!! Ellie’s blog at is so inspirational to me, so her nominating me for this award is such an incredible honor. In fact, if you click on my Inspirational Blogger Award picture in my sidebar right now, it’ll take you right to her site. Check it out!!!!

So the rules of the blogger award are that:

1. I have to display the award icon, so here it is!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

2. Link back to the person who nominated me, that is Ellie (as noted above). Ellie, I’m so very honored and touched that you would nominate me, when your blog inspires me every day. I’ve had such a fun, personal journey in writing this blog so far. I  really owe all the credit back to the One who loves us all who enables me to write and inspires me to keep sharing. (Along with ALL my wonderful readers of course, thank you all!) 🙂 I’m so glad that you find the blog interesting and inspiring enough to keep coming back for more. Thank you again for your readership and support and for the award nomination.

3. State 7 things about myself. Okay, here goes, I’ll try to tell you something new that you DON’T know:

#1 I LOVE food. All kinds. I’m not afraid to try much, although when my friend, Hunter, sent me a picture of himself, eating a guinea pig during his international travels, I had a BIG problem with the teeth and claws, not to mention it was on a stick!!! GROSS.

#2 I DO drink alcoholic beverages occasionally, YES, some of you have asked. 🙂 I really vary on this with tastes. I love wine, reds and whites. I like Coors light on draft, COLD. I like Bailey’s on the rocks, I love a good margarita on the rocks, no salt please. Sadly, I don’t get to partake of any of these very often anymore because of my meds. Every now and then though, when the stars align, I do enjoy an “adult beverage.”

#3 I love Ohio State. I did not go to school there. Bob did not go to school there. We bleed Buckeye blood. 😉

#4 My Dad served in Vietnam. All you vets, THANK YOU!!!

#5 I like to cook but hate baking. I know, I’m weird.

#6 My favorite movie of all time is “Sweet Home Alabama” with Reese Witherspoon, Patrick Dempsey and Josh Lucas. I’m a total sap at heart.

#7 I would not consider myself especially outdoorsy but I love campfires. Love them!

4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award. This is hard for me because I have so many bloggers’ sites that inspire me and help fulfill different loves of my life. Please check them out, you won’t be sorry you did. There is something here for everyone!

    1. Sheri, I wrote a comment back to you earlier in the evening but poof, it disappeared! Thank you for following me. I’m thankful for your support and your sweet note today. It means the world.

  1. Congratulations on a well deserved award! I really enjoyed reading the Q & A session. I can relate to #5 and 6. I’d rather slice an onion before mixing flour and chocolate chips together. Plus, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched “Sweet Home Alabama!” Thanks again for the gracious nod to my blog. It was a bright spot in my day, Jen! 🙂
